Hello! I’m Rachel 👋
I’m 24, mum to two beautiful little girls — a lively two-year-old and a very cuddly eight-month-old — and currently trying to balance working part-time, studying for my MSc in Digital Marketing, and keeping everyone fed and alive. Most days, I’m fueled by coffee and Red Bull in equal measure 🐝.
Like so many mums, my life is a juggling act of deadlines, nappy changes, work calls, and trying to remember what sleep used to feel like. I started Study.Work.Mum because, honestly, I needed a space that felt real — somewhere to share the highs, the lows, and the in-between moments that come with trying to do it all.
🍼 The Chaos and the Coffee (Well, Red Bull)
When I became a mum for the first time, I quickly realised that motherhood is equal parts beautiful and chaotic. There’s so much love — but also so much laundry. When my second came along, I thought, “Surely it can’t get any busier?” Spoiler: it can.
At the same time, I didn’t want to lose me. I’ve always been ambitious, and I love learning — so I decided to go back to uni and study for my master’s degree. Add a part-time job to help support the family, and suddenly my Google Calendar looks like a game of Tetris.
But that’s the thing — so many of us mums are out here quietly doing the impossible every single day. And I think that deserves to be celebrated.
🎓 Why I Started Study.Work.Mum
I wanted to create a space for mums who are doing a lot. Not just parenting, but studying, working, chasing dreams, and trying to find themselves again in the middle of it all.
It’s not about pretending to have everything sorted (because who does?). It’s about being honest — about the days that go well, and the ones that completely fall apart.
Study.Work.Mum is for the mum who’s typing an essay during nap time, the one answering work emails with a baby on her hip, or the one trying to revise after bedtime with one eye open. It’s for you if you’ve ever felt like you’re not doing enough — when actually, you’re doing everything.
I wanted to build a community where we can share tips, stories, and survival hacks. Because let’s face it — sometimes the best advice doesn’t come from a textbook, it comes from another mum who’s been there too.
💛 What You’ll Find Here - Motherhood, Study, Work.
On Study.Work.Mum, you’ll find:
Real-life stories — the honest ups and downs of juggling study, work and motherhood.
Practical tips for managing your time, staying productive, and not completely losing your mind.
Study hacks for student mums (because we don’t have time for 3-hour study routines).
Career advice for working mums trying to balance ambition with family life.
And, of course, a healthy dose of humour — because if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry.
Think of this as your online coffee date — a place to come for encouragement, connection, and a reminder that you’re not alone in the chaos.
☕ Real Talk: It’s Not Easy
Some days, I wake up full of motivation. Other days, I’m just trying to make it through without falling asleep mid-email. And that’s okay.
Being a mum is already a full-time job. Adding study and work on top of that? It’s no small feat. But it’s also proof that we’re stronger than we think — capable of more than we give ourselves credit for.
This blog isn’t here to preach or pretend. It’s about real, messy, imperfect motherhood. The kind where you celebrate finishing an assignment with a cold cup of tea, or consider a solo trip to Tesco your version of self-care.
We’ll talk about burnout, balance (or lack thereof), mental load, and motivation. But we’ll also talk about dreams — because just because we’re mums doesn’t mean we have to stop growing.
🌿 Join the Study.Work.Mum Community
Ultimately, Study.Work.Mum isn’t just my story — it’s ours. I want it to become a supportive, open space for all mums who are studying, working, or just figuring it out one day at a time.
If you’ve got tips that make your life a little easier, or stories that remind others they’re not alone, I’d love to hear them. You can connect with me on Instagram, TikTok, or right here in the comments.
So whether you’re reading this during nap time, on your lunch break, or hiding in the bathroom for five peaceful minutes (we’ve all done it), welcome.
You’re doing amazing. You belong here.
Let’s figure it out together 💛
